SUP Privacy Policy

SUP Publishing CIC is community interest company coordinated through the Scottish Confederation of University and Research Libraries (SCURL). We are registered as a data controller with the Information Commissioner’s Office.

This statement provides details of the different ways we collect and use personal data. Our use of data may vary according to which services you access.

What information do we collect?

We hold and process personal data about visitors to our website, those who subscribe to our newsletters, those who submit proposals for publication, those who join our peer review network, those who make enquiries and those who purchase content through our platform.

The personal data we may process will depend on your interactions with the Press. The data we may process typically includes:

We collect and process data in the legitimate interests of delivering our publishing services. This covers the following processes:

  • To fulfil our peer review policies

  • To administer subscriptions to our newsletter

  • To complete orders through our publications store

  • To improve our services and review performance

How long do we keep your information?

We will retain your information for as long necessary to provide you with the services requested and to fulfil our lawful business purposes.

Who do we share information with?

Parts of our infrastructure are provided through SCURL member institutions.

We also share information with academic staff who are part of our Editorial Board and with peer reviewers.
